To scrub for a range of specialities including, General, Orthopaedics, ENT, Gynae and Urology. To act as patient advocate and to maintain high standards of patient care ensuring that patient objectives are achieved using a systematic approach to patient care. To assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care, providing support to other members of the multidisciplinary team. To liaise with all patients and their relatives and ensure that they are kept informed of treatment and progress and to participate in the provision of advice and support. To promote evidence-based practice and to take an active part in any relevant research/audits being undertaken planning and initiating changes to enhance patient care. To ensure compliance with Infection Control standards, in line with Trust policy. To maintain accurate records of observation, treatment and care, teaching and monitoring others as necessary. To provide clinical leadership to theatre teams. To participate in the induction/in-service training of staff who are in their supernumerary period.
