To assist and support all members of the recovery/theatre staff and multi-disciplinary team, in providing safe, effective and efficient care to all paediatric patients during their time in theatres and recovery.

To participate in performance management and appraisals.

To follow Trust policy in the event of critical incidents and complaints.

To read, keep up-to-date with and adhere to BCH CSW code of conduct and Trust guidelines policies and procedures.

## Person Specification

### QUALIFICATIONS

**Essential**

- Math’s and English Language GCSE grade C or above or Level 2 functional skills/Key skills in Numeracy and literacy)
- Willingness to undertake any competencies necessary for role
- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care

**Desirable**

- Cavendish Care Certificate

### ANALYTICAL AND JUDGEMENT SKILLS

**Essential**

- Be able to escalate problems when required and report back to supervising practitioner
- Able to recognise limitations

### KNOWLEDGE & NATURE OF EXPERIENCE

**Desirable**

- Experience working in a theatre setting
- Previous experience working with children and young people or relevant experience working in care

### PERSONAL SKILLS / ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTESKNOWLEDGE

**Essential**

- Excellent verbal and listening communication skills Able to work well in a team, work reliably and safely under indirect supervision
- Able to carry out instructions with diligence and accuracy, reporting back as require
- Able to organise own workload
