An opportunity has arisen for a full time Technical Manager (MEP) to work in the Estates Department within the Facilities and EHealth Directorate of NHS Grampian.

The post will be based initially at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, and will be employed to provide technical commissioning services to major construction projects, This post will be required to work across all of Grampian to meet the demands of the service.

We require an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated individual to work within a team that is committed to delivering quality physical works projects in support of the corporate aims of NHS Grampian. The successful candidate will be a team player with good organisational abilities, good communication skills and be able to prioritise their workload.

Relevant previous experience of technical commissioning of complex mechanical and electrical systems in the building construction sector is essential, ideally with experience of working in a lead technical and commissioning role. Experience in NHS setting is desirable. The post requires the minimum of a recognised construction industry qualification up to degree level in a technical subject and the candidate should ideally be a chartered member of an engineering institute with appropriate qualification level, e.g. MEng or BEng or equivalent.

The post involves ensuring the mechanical and electrical installations within physical infrastructure projects are installed and commissioned to relevant statutory, technical and NHS specific standards and in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. The post holder will be required to deal with a range of multidisciplinary teams of construction and health professionals and the post holder must be able to undertake detailed inspections, plan and witness commissioning of installed services and prepare reports on progress regarding live construction sites.

The candidate will require to have a comprehensive knowledge of building services design and installation methods and be able to interpret and advise on highly complex technical commissioning results to ensure installations are completed to the highest quality standards. The post holder will be required to demonstrate previous experience in technical commissioning associated with significant sized construction projects and ideally be familiar with BSRIA and CIBSE commissioning guidance and procedures.

Knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Email are essential and familiarity with CAD drawing packages and construction related document management systems is desirable.

### CSCS Card required. Current driving licence essential.
