You will become part of a committed and developing team providing an integrated approach to admission avoidance at UHW. As the Team Lead Occupational Therapist, you will lead the team in implementing service developments in line with CAV strategy, the Six Goals of Urgent and Emergency Care, and the Occupational Therapy Strategic Plan. You will demonstrate strong skills in collaborative multidisciplinary team (MDT) working and will support the development of an integrated service alongside physiotherapy colleagues to meet the needs of patients at the front door. ### Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation and management of the Occupational Therapy service within the busy front door. They will plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate the Occupational Therapy service in this setting. The successful candidate will provide professional leadership on Occupational Therapy-related matters, working closely with members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to deliver services that support admission avoidance and early intervention within a pressured working environment. This will include working with patients presenting with multi-pathology and complex needs. They will collaborate closely with key leaders and managers to identify areas for service development and improvement, and to implement transformational change. The post holder will also manage a clinical caseload, undertaking specialist Occupational Therapy duties predominantly within medicine. In addition, they will be responsible for planning and delivering education and specialist training, and for the operational management of the team, providing expert advice within urgent and emergency care. The role requires working as an autonomous practitioner. The post holder will participate in a rota covering seven days, including extended working hours.
