This is a senior analytical role within the Talking Therapies Division, focused on using performance intelligence and modern digital tools to improve how services operate, support decision‑making and make a meaningful difference to outcomes for people accessing Talking Therapies across Greater Manchester.

### Main duties of the job

Working as part of the Talking Therapies Performance Team, the post holder will lead the development, production and continual improvement of high‑quality performance analysis that underpins effective operational management, service improvement and strategic decision‑making across the Division.

The role combines analytical expertise with leadership responsibility. The post holder will provide line management and professional leadership to analysts within the team, helping to foster a strong performance and information culture across Talking Therapies.

Innovation and development are central to the role. The post holder will actively explore, assess and implement modern digital tools and approaches – including Power BI, SQL, Power Automate, Robotic Process Automation tools and AI approaches – to improve efficiency, data quality and the way insight is delivered to services.

Through robust analysis and clear, accessible reporting, the role will directly support improvements in access, waiting times, equity, recovery and improvement outcomes for people accessing NHS Talking Therapies services.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Knowledge of the national performance framework for Talking Therapies
- Understanding of Information Governance principles, GDPR and NHS data standards.

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of the NHS Talking Therapies national dataset and submission requirements.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of a Performance and Information Management role within a complex organisation
- Demonstrable experience designing and developing Power BI or similar dashboards and reports for operational and strategic use.
- Experience writing SQL queries against a data warehouse or relational database environment.
- Experience providing line management and/or supervision within a team
- Experience with extracting datasets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with data requirements
- Experience of handling Freedom of Information (FOI) requests in compliance with statutory deadlines.
- Experience operating in a context of ongoing performance improvement and organisational change.

**Desirable**

- Experience of a Performance and Information Management role within the NHS.
- Experience using Power Automate, Robotic Process Automation or Microsoft Copilot.
- Project Management training (e.g. PRINCE2).

### Skills and Abilities

- Ability to influence and persuade others
- Ability to develop and implement policies and promote service development within sphere of responsibility.
- Excellent organisational skills; able to plan, manage and prioritise workload for self and team to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work autonomously, demonstrating initiative and a proactive, self-motivated approach.

**Desirable**

- Familiarity with emerging tools such as Power Automate, Robotic Process Automation and LLMs.
- Understanding of analytical and statistic techniques used to measure performance in the NHS, e.g. SPC charts, etc.

### Education/Qualifications

**Essential**

- Graduate level qualification and/or relevant suitable experience or knowledge.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.

**Desirable**

- Relevant academic or vocational qualification relating to IT, analysis, statistics or dashboard development
