### Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and accredited CBT therapist with a PWP qualification, to join our service as a deputy manager.

The post holder will retain a small caseload and will deliver a high level of psychological interventions with designated clients who have a range of complex anxiety and depression related problems.

### Main duties of the job

- Support Team Manager in project work and lead on projects as appropriate.
- Represent the service area at local meetings in the absence of the Team Manager.
- Provide strong visible leadership within area of responsibility.
- Ensure that all staff in the service area are clear about what is expected and are working together in successful teams to achieve in the Trust’s vision.

Promote a culture where staff feel empowered and accountable for service improvement at local level.

- In the absence of the Team Manager review the service area workforce to ensure it has the right numbers of the right level of knowledge skill and expertise skill to deliver services in the most effective and efficient way
- Ensure that staff within service area are providing optimum quality of care in line with national healthcare standards including local healthcare targets and NICE guidance etc.
- Support the Team Manager in ensuring the Talking Therapies Team is adopting best practice to support the Trusts objective.
- Promote a culture where governance and risk management are seen to be everyone’s responsibility.
- Ensure that safety is at the centre of service area planning, analysis, and delivery.
- Support the Team Manager in implementing effective systems to record and monitor governance and risk information and contribute to reports to the relevant forums.

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Demonstrable knowledge and expertise regarding National and local developments in Primary Care Mental Health and Talking Therapies
- Clear understanding of statutory responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 1983, Clinical Governance, Child Protection, etc
- Specialist knowledge of all the evidence based models of psychological therapy, evidence for their use and detailed knowledge of common mental health problems
- Highly specialist theoretical and practical knowledge and skills working with mental health problems
- Ability to analyse and present complex information to colleagues
- Ability to use and understand performance information
- Can assist in the managing of people through change
- Ability to work with support in taking critical decisions
- Working independently and referring to line manager when necessary
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to concentrate for long periods of time and interpret complex information

### Experience

**Essential**

- Substantial experience as a High Intensity Therapist within a Talking Therapies setting
- Supervisory experience in a Talking Therapies setting
- Experience of working in wider Mental Health settings
- A well-developed professional CPD portfolio demonstrating extensive clinical experience

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- A recorded qualification in High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at Post Graduate Diploma Level
- Accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies
- PWP Qualification
