### Job overview

We are looking for someone who has extensive administrative experience, whether in the NHS or equivalent public sector and experience working with the public is key. You must also demonstrate excellent organisational skills and be able to work under pressure, prioritise workloads and work to deadlines. The ability to work successfully as part of a team is essential for this role. This is a busy role and attention to detail is key, you will need to have a flexible approach to work and be able to maintain accuracy  while dealing with many interruptions.

### Main duties of the job

This is a 37.5 hour position, working between 08:30-17:00 Monday-Friday at The Rose Centre based at St Georges Hospital.

Coordinate the screening multi-disciplinary team meetings ensuring the smooth running, accurate collection, collation and inputting of Screening and Imaging related data to assist in the coordination of the patient pathway which includes booking of recalled clients to assessment clinics in line with National Screening guidance and timelines.

Assist with daily tracking of Screening clients as required and in periods of sickness, annual leave and any other absences.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

- To provide administrative support to the MDT meeting(s); produce and circulate lists of patients for discussion; ensure relevant notes and information are available at the meeting.
- To liaise closely with clinical and administrative staff to compile MDT lists and to maintain a list of attendees.
- To proactively track all patients called to screening assessment and escalate as required to ensure a timely diagnosis and treatment for cancer patients, in line with national cancer wait times targets.
- To hold and maintain knowledge of the wide range of procedures involved in booking assessment appointments, to accurately and efficiently record patients onto Cerner and Infoflex.
- To document clinical outcomes of MDT meetings on the clinical MDT form and the National breast Screening System (NBSS) and update tracking on Infoflex according to guidance.
- To work closely with the Data Collection Officer to ensure the smooth and effective flow of data into the service about all MDT cases.
- To be responsible for the booking of all assessment cases adhering to national timescales; to take suitable action alongside the Clinical Nurse Specialists when women fail to attend their appointments.
- To use digital communications with assessment women such as appointment text reminders
- To maintain a robust assessment filing system and to undertake regular quality assurance audits.
- To be responsible for undertaking regular audits ensuring data accuracy and patient progression throughout the assessment process.
- To actively monitor all cancer cases and ensure they are discussed in a timely fashion to meet Faster Diagnosis Standard and 62 day Cancer Wait Times.
- To accurately scan and attach referral and histology reports on NBSS in line with the protocols and guidance set down in work instructions.
- To work collaboratively to deliver the NHS Breast Screening Programme’s (NHSBSP’s) Right Results Protocol.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Understanding of patient’s pathway of care through an acute trust setting
- Around the principles of good customer care.
- Demonstrate understanding of manual and electronic filing systems

**Desirable**

- National Cancer Dataset/Cancer Waiting times.
- Demonstrate understanding of audit process

### Experience

**Essential**

- Good working knowledge of IT Microsoft Packages such as Outlook, Word, Excel and other relevant programmes.
- Minimum of 12 months NHS experience or equivalent public sector, working with the public experience.
- Minimum of 12 months experience of supporting a multidisciplinary team.
- Undertaking detailed, intensive work in a busy administrative environment

**Desirable**

- Working with National Breast Screening Computer System (NBSS) and its operation .
- Working with Hospital-based applications Soliton/Infoflex/iClip.
- Minimum 12 months experience of Cancer services in the NHS.

### Skills and aptitudes

- Good communication skills including an ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with others from a variety of backgrounds, both verbal and written.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships within service and across the organisation.
- Demonstrate understanding re the importance of patient confidentiality and data protection.

### Education Qualifications and Training

**Essential**

- Good Level of education. GCSE Standard - C or above in English and Maths or equivalent.
- Good typing skills and ability to proactively identify own training needs and identify training opportunities.

**Desirable**

- NVQ2 in Business Administration or Customer Care or equivalent
