Job Title: Surgical Phlebotomist Contract Type: Permanent Under current Home Office rules, this role is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. This a small and friendly team, who covers a 24 roster across the surgical wards. We are looking for a compassionate and professional individual, who may have experience of healthcare work. All of the necessary training for the role will be provided. We highly recommend you review this document and use it when completing your application as these criteria are used by hiring managers as guidance during shortlisting. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples safely with due respect to the dignity of patients, and the needs of other clinical services, and to ensure blood samples are collected in appropriate containers, labelled correctly, and prepared and dispatched to relevant laboratory sections in a timely and accurate manner. Assist in the provision of individualised care, under the supervision of a qualified nurse and others in the health care professional team Shift times for this role are Early shift (07:30-15:30) Late shift (14:30-20:00) Long day shift (07:30-20:00) Night shift (07:30-20:00) ### Applicant requirements This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service. ## Person Specification ### Trust Values **Essential** - Patient First - Working Together - Always Improving ### Qualifications, knowledge and experience **Essential** - Willingness to learn new skills.
