### Job overview

We are looking for a support secretary to join the Care of the Elderly Team. You must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients and medical teams, have the ability to work under pressure, have excellent time management skills and the ability to be able to problem solve.

The role of the support secretary is to provide support to the admin team within the department, dealing with referrals, liaising with the medical team and the production of clinic letters amongst other general duties. This role is also to support the discharged inpatient side of the department which will include the checking of discharge summaries, checking results and general inpatient queries that come in for the Consultants once the patient has been discharged from the ward.

Previous administrative experience is desirable, but not essential as full training will be given. School leavers are also very welcome to apply. Medical terminology is desirable but not essential. Our ideal candidate will be flexible, adaptable and willing to work as part of our busy team and cross cover as necessary when required which may involve swapping working days on occasion but plenty of notice would be given.

This role is part time 22.5 hours per week and is ideally to be over 3 full days. Specific days can be discussed.
