### Job summary

- Supporting the development and delivery of strategic and operational plans to enable the Birmingham, Black Country and Solihull (BBCS) Integrated Care Board (ICB) cluster to achieve its objectives and key performance targets as set out in national cancer policy and the National Cancer Plan (2026).
- Support the Cancer and Diagnostics Team to ensure that strategic and operational planning and delivery processes are embedded at a programme level.
- Supporting the development of plans, ongoing monitoring and reporting of these plans ensuring governance processes are followed.

### Main duties of the job

- Drafting support for cases for change, service specifications, briefings, policies and protocols and other relevant documents.
- Project support, supporting new users, developing new templates.
- Ongoing monitoring of project action logs to support delivery of the Cancer and Diagnostics Delivery Plan.
- Recording liaison with BBCS localities and associated patient and public representation groups.
- Maintaining Cancer and Diagnostics delivery plan issues log/risk register working with the ICB, primary care and providers.
- Supporting Cancer and Diagnostics reporting and monitoring for the function.
- Supporting the team with coordination of planning and delivery of regional and national returns/performance reporting.
- Supporting new Cancer & Diagnostics pathway awareness with providers and primary care.
- Be a key member of the Cancer & Diagnostics Team as well as supporting effective communication and stakeholder management, both internally and externally.
- Supporting teams to ensure that the portfolio of tasks/projects is planned, managed and delivered effectively.
- Supporting the delivery of public engagement and awareness events in the community.
- Supporting and informing the targeting of resources, monitoring, implementation and evaluation of the tasks/projects by providing high quality support including complex information and analysis, communications and stakeholder management.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience and understanding of evaluating and measuring the performance of health services.
- Experience in communications and stakeholder management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of project management and programme management

**Desirable**

- Workforce development knowledge and experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project ECDL, Excel and Visio
- Previous experience in similar role in public sector
- A good understanding of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it
- A good understanding of the commissioning agenda
- An in depth understanding of current NHS policy

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.
- Further training or significant experience in programme/ project management, financial management or supporting change management processes.
