Are you an organised, proactive, and compassionate administrator looking to make a difference in patient care? We are looking for a Support Administrator to join our friendly and supportive Rheumatology team.

In this rewarding role, you will provide a comprehensive administrative and clerical service to our Consultants, clinical professionals, and wider multidisciplinary team, helping to ensure patients receive an efficient and high-quality service.

You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the department, managing a varied workload, coordinating administrative activities, and acting as a professional point of contact for patients, clinicians, and colleagues. Working both independently and as part of a dedicated team, you will use your initiative, organisational skills, and attention to detail to help maintain a smooth and effective service.

### Main duties of the job

We are looking for a passionate, organised, and motivated individual who thrives in a busy and fast-paced environment to join our team of Rheumatology Medical Secretaries.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Rheumatology service by providing comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to our clinicians. A significant part of the role will involve the timely and accurate processing of clinical correspondence, ensuring effective communication with patients, GPs, healthcare professionals, and other agencies.

Working closely with Consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will help coordinate administrative processes, manage a varied workload, and contribute to the delivery of a high-quality, patient-focused service. You will be expected to use your initiative, prioritise tasks effectively, and work collaboratively with colleagues to support the best possible outcomes and experience for our patients.

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
