## Job Content

### Job overview

Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medway Community Healthcare. Nursing vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses.

KCHFT is seeking ambitious Registered Adult Nurses who are passionate about developing their careers while contributing to our reputation for high-quality community healthcare. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your skills and experience across a range of community settings, working within our Integrated Neighbourhood Teams.

We're offering a 12-month, full-time Specialist Practitioner Qualification (District Nursing), with vacancies available across East and West Kent and academic support provided by the University of Greenwich. On successful completion, you will progress into a Band 6 Qualified Specialist Practitioner District Nurse role. Existing Band 6 staff will retain their Band 6 salary throughout the programme.

You'll be supported to develop as a clinical leader, delivering high-quality patient care, driving innovation, and contributing to an inclusive and supportive culture. You will also have opportunities to influence service development and make a meaningful difference to the communities we serve.

If you're committed to putting patients first, supporting people to live well for longer, and playing a key role in the future of community healthcare, we would love to hear from you.

### Main duties of the job

We're looking for motivated and compassionate Registered Nurses who are passionate about delivering high-quality community care and developing as future clinical leaders.

To apply, you must:

- Be a Registered Nurse with at least 12 months' Community Nursing experience.
- Be an active NMC Mentor, Practice Assessor or Practice Supervisor.
- Demonstrate recent professional development relevant to your clinical area.

We're interested in nurses who can:

- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to promote health, wellbeing and integrated care.
- Demonstrate the ambition to develop their leadership skills and improve healthcare delivery within local communities.
- Show awareness of current practice, policy and emerging developments relevant to their specialty.

This is an exciting time to join Community Nursing. As more care is delivered closer to home, you'll play a key role in helping people receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time. From preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and supporting people with long-term conditions to providing high-quality end-of-life care, you'll work in partnership with patients, families and carers to achieve the best possible outcomes.

As this is a funded educational development opportunity, applicants must have the full and unrestricted right to work in the UK for the duration of the programme. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider applications from individuals who require visa sponsorship at this time.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

As a community Trust, many of our roles require individuals to be able to drive to perform their duties. Where driving is a requirement of the role, you will be asked to confirm that you hold a full UK driving licence or a full driving licence issued by an EU country (not exchanged from a non-EU country) to proceed with your application. We are committed to supporting candidates with disabilities into employment. If you are unable to drive due to a disability, please contact the Recruitment Team via kentchft.recruitment@nhs.net, quoting the vacancy reference number, so we can support you further.

The job description and person specification gives you all the information you need about this role. Please look carefully at the criteria in the person specification and tell us what you have done that shows you meet this in your application. If you need an application form in an alternative format please let our recruitment team know. All information you supply on your application should, to the best of your knowledge, be true and accurate.

Still have questions? The recruiting manager would love to hear from you, their contact details can be found in the job advert.

We can get a lot of applications for some roles so to be in with the best chance of being shortlisted please make sure you apply as soon as possible. A vacancy may close early if there is a lot of interest in the job.

At KCHFT we strongly encourage colleagues in clinical and non-clinical roles who have direct or social contact with patients to be fully vaccinated. In this way we will be doing all we can to ensure your safety and that of your colleagues and the patients we serve.
