The Stroke service provides 24/7 cover and currently has seven dedicated Stroke consultants , one clinical Academic, contribution from consultant Neurologists and an Acute Medicine consultant. NUH is the fourth largest acute Trust within the UK, with a busy emergency department at Queens Medical Centre, which is a level 1 Trauma Centre. NUH provide s services to 2.5 million residents of Nottingham and surrounding communities, and specialist services to a further 3-4 million across the region and nationally. The successful applicant will join an enthusiastic and committed team. The Trust is committed to further development of the Stroke service to maintain its long standing position in the forefront of stroke care provision nationally. The post holder will play a key part in developing the existing stroke pathway, providing consultant input to hyper acute stroke, acute stroke, intensive rehabilitation and continuing stroke rehabilitation. ### Main duties of the job Please refer to the job description and person specification attached. You will be joining a dedicated, diverse and dynamic team of professionals providing outstanding stroke care and internationally recognised Stroke research within the NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre, a partnership between NUH and the University of Nottingham. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities A full range of Stroke emergency and elective patients are admitted to Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and the appointee will be responsible for the management of those patients admitted under their care.
