### Job overview

We have a vacancy within the accredited Sterile Services Department at Furness General Hospital for 1 part time Sterilisation Technician working:-

15 Hours per week, Saturday & Sunday 09:00 - 17:30 to provide maternity cover on a fixed term 8 month contract.

You will be responsible for the decontamination and sterilisation of surgical instruments and providing sterile procedure packs to Endoscopy and the NHS Trust.

Experience of working in an accredited Sterile Services unit is preferable. However training will be offered to right candidate.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Good knowledge of all decontamination processes in the hospital sterile services department.

**Desirable**

- Sterile Services or hospital experience

### Education & Qualifications

**Essential**

- Technical certificate or NVQ 3 Decontamination or equivalent level of knowledge and experience through Decontamination Training.

### Skills, Ability & Knowledge

**Essential**

- Good communication skills verbal and written
- To work under pressure and as part of a team or alone
