The team take great pride in delivering high standards of Occupational Therapy patient centred care supporting the recovery and rehabilitation of those following Orthopaedic Surgical intervention. We have a vacancy at band 5 level for an individual who has experience working as an Occupational Therapist within Orthopaedics and is looking for a fantastic opportunity to further their knowledge and develop their clinical reasoning and clinical practice. The team have significant experience to support those wishing to develop a career path within the orthopaedic speciality. The successful applicant will work closely with MDT colleagues and cover a very mixed caseload across a 150 bed base. This includes both trauma and elective patients across 6 wards including a private patient unit. The team support the busy orthopaedic OP clinic, perform pre op assessments and lead education classes. Innovation in service delivery and continuous improvement is encouraged Leadership is provided by an 8a Operational Lead, a band 7 clinical lead plus numerous Clinical Specialist band 6 Occupational Therapists all engaged in your development. The department supports flexible working patterns across 7 days enabling positive home and work-life balances. ### Main duties of the job Excellent problem-solving skills are a must, to ensure holistic and patient centred quality care. Demonstrable experience in facilitating discharges within the clinical speciality of Orthopaedic Inpatients is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively as part of multi-disciplinary and therapy team.
