He/she is a novice/advanced beginner to Critical Care requiring guidance and training in order to acquire the complex skills required for proficient intensive care and high dependency nursing. He/she may not yet be an ICU trained practitioner but one who is working towards this. ### Main duties of the job Provides assessment, planning, organisation and co-ordination of care to Critically Ill patients Establishes and maintains the highest standards of organisation and care delivery Provides a working and training environment that allows all staff to perform their duties to the best of their ability ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities To practise evidence/research-based care which is critically evaluated to ensure a high standard of care As a member of the nursing team, participate in establishing a good environment in which patients receive a high standard of care As a member of the nursing team, assist in setting standards and expectations in the quality of care To make an active contribution to the nursing teams and current projects To actively contribute in data collection and audit projects that are in progress in Critical Care and Trust wide Ensure due regard is given to the customs, values and spiritual beliefs of patients and colleagues and that equal opportunities are practiced.
