On Ward 33 we specialise in care of patients with a range of gastroenterology diseases. We are committed to multidisciplinary working alongside specialist Gastroenterological medical staff, specialist nurses, dieticians and therapists. We care for patients with a range of gastroenterological conditions including Liver Disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Major Gastrointestinal Haemorrhage and nutritional disorders. We would like to recruit highly motivated, caring and compassionate nurses with good communication skills to join our exceptional team. We would encourage applications from all specialities and areas and this this is also a great opportunity for newly qualified nurses as we offer a supportive preceptorship program. ### Main duties of the job - Take responsibility for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of the nursing care for a named caseload of patients, including their property and valuables. - Assist in creating a therapeutic environment which meets the needs of patients, relatives and carers. - Adhere to Wirral Hospital objectives, policies, protocols and guidelines. - Liaise with other members of the multidisciplinary team. - Contribute to promoting a critical, analytical approach to the delivery of care and implementation of change. - Participate in audits. - Continuously update own skills and knowledge and maintain awareness of clinical issues. - In the absence of the Ward/Departmental Manager or their deputy, act as shift coordinator. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities Please see Job overview & attached Job description for further information about the Staff Nurse position available within WUTH. ### Applicant requirements You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
