As a Staff Nurse within the Walk-In Service, you will deliver safe, effective and person-centred nursing care to paediatric and adult patients presenting with a variety of minor illness complaints. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, you will undertake initial patient triage using agreed protocols, and undertake the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care. You will play a key role in prioritising patients based on clinical need, supporting timely access to appropriate care and ensuring patients are directed to the most suitable treatment pathway. Exercising sound clinical judgement within your scope of practice, you will work collaboratively with senior clinicians and the wider healthcare team, escalating concerns appropriately to support safe patient flow and effective service delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to develop nursing practice within community-based urgent care. As a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and relevant post-registration experience, you will have excellent communication, assessment and organisational skills, together with the ability to work effectively within a busy and evolving clinical environment. Experience within urgent care, unscheduled care, emergency care, primary care or acute settings would be advantageous. You will be committed to delivering high-quality patient care, maintaining professional standards and supporting a positive patient experience. You will work closely with senior clinicians and colleagues across healthcare boundaries to ensure care is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with evidence-based practice, local policies and national standards. You will be flexible to the needs of the role and service and will support the Senior ANP (SANP), Lead Nurse and wider clinical leadership team in delivering safe, patient-centred and effective care. You will contribute to service development, quality improvement activities and ensure your own continuing professional development is undertaken to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained. To meet the needs of the Walk-In Service (Urgent Care), hours will include weekend working. Travel across Fife will be required, with centres located at Queen Margaret Hospital Dunfermline, Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy and St Andrews Community Hospital.
