Seaview Ward provides assessment, treatment and short-term inpatient care for individuals experiencing acute mental health difficulties. Our aim is to deliver high-quality, recovery-focused care that supports patients to stabilise, regain independence and return home with appropriate community support. As a Band 5 Staff Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering safe, therapeutic and person-centred care to people with a range of psychological, emotional, social and physical health needs. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to assessment, care planning, risk management and recovery-focused interventions. We offer a range of shift patterns across a 24-hour service: - Night: 20:30 – 07:40 - Early: 07:15 – 15:15 - Late: 13:00 – 21:00 - Long Day: 07:15 – 21:00 - Twilight: 16:00 – 00:00 We are particularly keen to hear from applicants able to work night shifts, but welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates. You will be required to undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course and it is a condition of your employment that you successfully complete all aspects of this course; if this is not achieved you will not be able to commence working in the post. ### Main duties of the job As a Registered Mental Health Nurse on Seaview Ward, you will: - Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients experiencing acute mental health crises. - Undertake comprehensive assessments and contribute to care planning and risk management. - Support patients in their recovery journey through therapeutic engagement and intervention. - Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, patients, carers and community services. - Promote patient safety, dignity and positive outcomes throughout admission and discharge planning. - Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
