Staff Nurse Canadian Wing Band 5

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Canadian Wing for Band 5 Nurses wishing to develop their career in plastics, corneo and maxillofacial surgery.

### Main duties of the job

Your role will primarily be focused on delivering high quality care to a range of inpatients on a busy 31 bedded surgical unit. The successful post holder will also be able to work within our enhanced recovery area and head and neck unit which will give an amazing opportunity to develop higher level skills.  You will be working closely with your Band 6 colleagues to ensure you receive support and development, excellent communication skills are essential.  The successful candidate will be well motivated and enthusiastic to learn.   You will be given all necessary training required and will attend all relevant mandatory study days. We are committed to providing education opportunities to all our staff and place a strong emphasis on the education and development of the Ward team.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will work as part of a team to provide a safe, effective, efficient care environment for patients, relatives and carers. They will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care under indirect supervision from senior staff. They are expected to be able to demonstrate procedures and supervise unqualified staff, and work without direct supervision once the key learning outcomes of the foundation programme are complete.
