We are looking for individuals who are committed to delivering high-quality, individualised, patient-centred care and who demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, resilience, and a positive team approach. The ward predominantly cares for patients admitted acutely unwell under Emergency General Surgery as well as a wide range of specialties, including colorectal, upper gastrointestinal, urology, gastroenterology, hepatology, and renal medicine, while also supporting general medicine and elderly care when required. J47 is committed to staff development, providing comprehensive support to achieve clinical competencies, Practice Assessor and Practice Supervisor qualifications, and access to ongoing education and training within a supportive learning environment. ### Main duties of the job The role is to provide and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised programmes of care. You will deliver care without supervision and take responsibility as the prime care provider for a group of patients and at all times promote confidence in our commitment to provide excellent compassionate patient care. The role will involve taking charge of the ward or department as necessary in the absence of the Sister or Charge Nurse. You will participate in the in-service training, preceptorship and mentorship of junior staff, post basic learners and students as well as maintaining your personal development. The jobholder will work within an environment caring for adult patients, within an acute adult inpatient environment, providing high-quality nursing care for patients admitted with acute illness, predominantly those presenting with acute surgical conditions.
