## Person Specification

### Knowledge and experience

**Essential**

- Knowledge of Medicines Optimisation as it pertains to both primary and secondary care

**Desirable**

- Experience delivering medicine advice to health care professionals, its current provision across England through SPS, and its role in supporting Medicines Optimisation
- Experience of undertaking project work

### Education/ qualifications

**Essential**

- MPharm Master of Pharmacy
- Post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy (or in progress), or equivalent clinical experience
- Pharmacist (Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council)

**Desirable**

- Evidence of post registration commitment to continuing professional development such as postgraduate study, regular attendance at educational meetings
- Experience of working in a medicines information & advice service

### Skills, abilities and attributes

**Essential**

- Ability to critically appraise and analyse complex information in relation to medicines and to interpret and present coherently to healthcare professionals
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in written and verbal format
- Ability to work under pressure, in a changing environment, to tight deadlines, including in difficult or demanding circumstances

**Desirable**

- Ability to organise a broad range of activities, formulating and adjusting plans to reflect changing circumstances
- Ability to motivate and influence the work of others
