If you want to develop your knowledge, skills and experience in acute hospital care then this post will offer excellent structured opportunities. You will join a supportive and dynamic team with great opportunities for developing specialist skills across the areas of: - Stroke - Neurosciences - General Medical & Surgical The post-holder will be supported to work through the RCSLT NQP and dysphagia competencies frameworks as required. They will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients with communication and swallowing impairments across acute inpatient and stroke wards with support. There will be opportunities to attend multi-disciplinary team meetings and ward rounds, and to participate in delivery of teaching/training to other professionals. The service covers a large part of the culturally and economically diverse population of East London and covers four acute hospital sites and two community areas. You will be joining a large SLT department based across these sites with specialist expertise across the patient journey. The post holder will be part of a team providing specialist assessment and treatment to adults in the acute setting with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties. The post holder will be required to provide input along the various clinical pathways in the acute settings including neurosciences, health care of the elderly, general medicine, respiratory, trauma and Stroke Medicine.
