There are 2 inpatient wards totalling 32 beds, an outpatient department and theatre on site. It is the first regional spinal injury centre implanting and follow-up for two distinctly different intrathecal drug delivery devices for pain and spasticity management. You will be part of a medical team comprising of three Consultants in Spinal Injuries and one clinical fellow, resident doctor and trainee advanced clinical practitioner \[ACP\]. This is a new role at this Trust and the post holder will work alongside the senior consultant team in supporting establishing the care pathway as appropriate. ### Main duties of the job The main duties of the post will include Provide specialist clinical care to spinal cord inpatients and outpatients Work closely with acute spinal teams to support patient flow and continuity of care, completing spinal cord rehab ward rounds In conjunction with senior colleagues to play a full role in the out-of-hours on-call service for spinal including being on-call. Although post holders may not initially have the competencies to manage the specialty cover overnight it is expected that with adequate training they will develop to take on this role.
