### Job overview

The post holder will provide medical input supervised by consultant psychiatrist as part of a multi-disciplinary team offering care for people who present with early Psychosis.

### Main duties of the job

- psychiatric assessment, treatment, planning and review of service users;
- be a member of the multi-disciplinary team and to participate in the delivery and evaluation of treatment for the service users;
- participate in MDT meetings and Care Programme Approach reviews;
- conduct in depth informed clinical interviews, to be able to do mental state assessments, and general physical examination and request relevant investigations such as ECG, Bloods and formulate appropriate treatment plans including referrals to general medical services;
- Ensure that routine physical health checks are performed accordingly to the Early Intervention Standards.
- provide medical and mental health assessments to service users, and identify treatment resistant patients
- liaise with appropriate agencies concerning the treatment and management of service users, including maintaining active correspondence with GPs;
- diagnose clients with an ICD-10 code on acceptance onto the caseload and follow up appointments;
- maintain adequate written documentation of all medical and psychiatric examinations of the patients and to record contacts with relatives and carers. .
- undertake and complete psychiatric reports under supervision for Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Managers hearings and attending them as needed.
