Ardenleigh hospital has 30 beds as part of a women’s blended secure service as well as an adolescent secure care service comprising 17 medium and low secure beds. The post holder will provide support with the day-to-day psychiatric assessment and management of a complex patient group. In addition to regular inpatient reviews and report writing, there will be opportunities to undertake assessments for patients referred to the service. The post also includes a role in overseeing physical health care. You will need to have completed a minimum of four year’s postgraduate training at least two of which will be within a psychiatry training programme or have equivalent experience and competences. ### Main duties of the job You will carry out initial assessments for patients referred to the service particularly with regards to their physical and mental health needs and provide ongoing assessment of inpatients, with this feeding into the formulation and development of care plans. You will also be involved in developing risk assessment and management plans in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, service user, carers and other involved agencies and facilitate empowerment of the service user and carer in developing informed choice of treatment interventions.
