To assess, diagnose and support children presenting with neurodevelopmental disorders. To effectively safeguard, protect and promote the welfare, health and wellbeing of looked after children and young people, as well as care leavers. To provide statutory services to care of Looked After Children and those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. To ensure staff access Continuing Professional Development opportunities to provide continuing high standards of evidence based clinical care in line with professional and Government legislation, e.g. children and Family Act 2014, Every Child Matters and the NSF for Children and Families. ### Main duties of the job Specialty Doctor for Community Paediatrician Role - 6 PAs Roles and responsibilities: 1.     Child Development Assessment Clinics – neurodevelopmental assessment. 2.     Assessment for children referred under 5 years for diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. 3.     Working within Multidisciplinary Integrated Service at the Moor Lane Centre – joint assessments/MDT review/CPIP assessment/development of care pathways 4.     Provide medical advice to the Local SEND according to statutory legislation and guidance for children with special educational needs. 5.     Provide clinical supervision for junior medical staff based within the Integrated Service 6.      Supervision of child protection medical examinations at Kingston Hospital Children Looked After Service: 4 PAs per week: The clinician will support all activities necessary to ensure that the organisation meets its responsibilities for looked after children and young people in Kingston.  The doctor will be responsible to and accountable within the managerial framework of the provider organisation and at all times and in relation to the roles and responsibilities listed, work as a member of the organisation’s looked after children’s health team.
