This post is particularly suitable for doctors experienced in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, who are looking for more experience aiming to enter specialist training or to support CESR, and who will provide clinical experience on the second on call tier. The post holder will be supported by, and work in conjunction with, the Consultants in O&G, working alongside the other second on call doctors, junior medical team and nursing & midwifery colleagues. There is on-call commitment on the second on call rota, so a minimum of 3 years O&G experience is required, with minimum 6 months clinical experience in the NHS. ### Main duties of the job The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team is essential. Applicants must be both flexible in their approach and be ready to meet the challenges presented by the evolving health service changes in North Wales. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all aspect of work including outpatient clinic sessions in obstetrics and gynaecology, labour ward and gynaecology operating theatre lists in addition to the on-call rota. Please see detailed information on Job Description. ## Person Specification ### Academic **Essential** - Participation in Clinical audit/Quality Improvement activity **Desirable** - Publication in Peer Reviewed journals ### Experience **Essential** - Competence in managing emergency Obstetrics and Gynaecology cases as second on call with non-resident consultant cover **Desirable** - Experience of participation in research activity including recruitment, consenting or laboratory based research ### Management **Essential** - Understanding of NHS management structure. **Desirable** - Demonstrated ability to manage projects or staff rota. - Attendance at management course ### Qualifications **Essential** - MB ChB or equivalent qualification - MRCOG part 1 - Should have at least six months of experience working as second on call in the UK. **Desirable** - ATSM in Labour Ward/Advance Antenatal practice/Benign gynaecology - GCP training ### Knowledge and Skills **Essential** - Willingness and ability to work with minimal direct supervision - Good written and oral communication skills - Demonstrate ability to manage time effectively **Desirable** - Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively eg.
