The position requires full GMC registration and psychiatric training or experience. Whilst prior direct experience of perinatal mental health is not essential the post-holder will demonstrate a clear interest in perinatal care and a commitment to delivering safe high quality care. This post offers the opportunity to gain clinical experience in the specialist field of perinatal psychiatry. This will provide the opportunity to develop and improve knowledge and skills working with woman and families in the perinatal period. You will join a team that delivers specialist community perinatal mental health (PMHT) care, which integrate maternity services, community and primary care health services and social care. We respond rapidly to presentations within the perinatal period, screening, diagnosing and treating mental illness and associated risks to both mothers and unborn/infants within the perinatal period as well as offering pre-conception advice.
