We need an experienced doctor who can provide demonstrable expertise in General Surgery to deliver a high-quality independent service or manage complex cases with reference to a consultant. The post holder will be responsible, under the supervision of the consultant, for the day to day care of elective and emergency patients. You will be expected to play a full part in the relevant departmental rota. The post holder will work and liaise with the colleagues across the multidisciplinary team to ensure an appropriate, professional and timely provision of care to patients. Opportunities to work with a consultant will be provided to ensure on-going requirements for professional development and education. Robust medical revalidation and appraisal systems exist across the Northern Care Alliance, through which you will be allocated an appraiser and undertake an annual appraisal. ### Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible, under the supervision of the consultant, for the day to day care of elective and emergency patients.
