### Job overview

The Cornwall Children's Community Speech and Language Therapy service has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our Central Cornwall Team. This is a perfect opportunity for someone either looking to relocate or step into a specialist role.

You will hold a 0- 18 years old mixed community caseload and offer support to children and their families through clinic appointments, setting visits and home visits in the Central Cornwall  area. The service offers both assessment and intervention, in addition to consultation and training.

You will also be the Local Area Co-Ordinator for the Central Team South sub team. This involves supporting the Central Team lead with therapist allocations, answering routine enquiries and organisation of the clinical spaces. The Central Team South currently covers the area of Truro and likely the Falmouth area in the future as the service aligns with the NHS 10 year plan and local Integrated Neighbourhood Team

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Clinical experience of working with autism, other neurodevelopmental disorders, and with children and young people with complex conditions and needs
- Highly developed skills of clinical assessment, evaluation and intervention for children and young people with speech, language and communication difficulties.
- Experience of working with multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams, with an understanding of team roles and professional roles

**Desirable**

- Some experience of leadership –coordinating a team/project and supporting them/it clinically and professionally.
- Experience of evaluating service delivery and monitoring effectiveness and outcomes of intervention, and of undertaking clinical audit Experience of participation in audit and research projects

### Qualification/Education

**Essential**

- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent qualification).
- Fully signed-off the Newly Qualified Practitioner Competencies as set out by the Royal College of Speech Language Therapists.
- Registration with Health Professions Council

**Desirable**

- Membership of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
