Are you organised and looking to work within a multidisciplinary team? We are looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our inpatient team. You will be part of the team delivering communication and dysphagia services on the acute stroke ward at new Cross Hospital. The SLT  acute stroke team comprises of SLT staff from band 7 to band 3 and is embedded as part of the wider MDT. We also provide community and rehab inpatient services and are able to provide a smooth transition for patients across all areas of service. We have access to instrumental dysphagia assessment, a supportive admin team, embedded supervision and support structures for both professional development and wellbeing. As part of a large teaching organisation, CPD is very well supported and actively encouraged. The Rehab and Community team sit within a wider adult service with access to a wealth of experience and support in the areas of critical care, acute stroke, acute inpatients, head and neck and voice, community strok and CNRT. We also benefit from being part of a large SLT service which includes children’s services allowing opportunities for cross-service development projects. We have very strong AHP leadership within the Trust. ### Main duties of the job This is a senior post with clinical responsibility for adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties following stroke. The post holder will work in the in-patient team delivering SLT to acute patients but may be required to work in other settings on an occasional basis. The post holder will be a member of the multidisciplinary stroke team.
