### Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 8 a or band 7 to Band 8a psychologist/psychological therapist preceptorship to work in a primary care hub partnership delivered by Oxleas NHS Foundation trust , SEL Mind and Bridge Mental Health.

The mental health hub offers a collaborative and holistic approach and range of psycho social interventions in order to prevent major mental health problems. Psychologists develop and oversee psycho education /well being programmes and evaluate these as well as advising primary care staff on complex cases. Applicants with an interest in developing new ways of working and incorporating systemic ideas and models into clinical practice will be welcome.

The service is delivered in collaboration with psychological therapists working in the mental health hubs in Bexley and Bromley and will be linking with new Integrate Neighbourhood teams as these are set up.

### Main duties of the job

The postholder will supervise a team of assistant psychologists who deliver and evaluate group programmes and work closely with NHS talking therapies service, GPs and secondary care psychological therapies to ensure clients access appropriate interventions. Strong working links exist with other primary and secondary care teams. The post holder will carry out complex assessments and advise other clinical staff in the hub on formulation and psychological interventions.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

- Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration
- Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.
- Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS. (A/I)
- High level knowledge of the theory and practice of at least one specialised psychological therapies and two assessment methodologies

- Knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex data analysis

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of adult clients with a range of psychological needs of a complex nature under supervision
- Experience working with and addressing issues of diversity, including experience of working within a multicultural framework.
- Experience of maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems
- Experience of consulting with other professionals in an MDT setting

**Desirable**

- Experience of providing teaching and training

### Education & Qualifications

**Essential**

- Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS or Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist.(BABCP /UKCP)

**Desirable**

- Additional training in specific therapy modality
