### Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Worcestershire Podiatry team for an experienced podiatrist to join our team.

The role is a permanent position for 22.5 hours per week. It will involve work in both health centres and out in the community in patients homes, care homes and local hospitals. The community team covers parts of Kidderminster, Bromsgrove and surrounding area. We are a team that manage complex patients with foot ulcers through comprehensive musculoskeletal and vascular assessments.

The ideal candidate will be a team player, committed to providing high quality patient care with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Enthusiastic, highly motivated and a strong work ethic is most desirable.

Dependant on applicants a more flexible/part time role may be considered, this is open to discussion during interview.

### Main duties of the job

- Actively manage treatment programmes in line with care planning and discharge guidelines.
- Identify when patients need referrals to other professionals or specialist areas, following agreed pathways.
- Perform nail surgery (undertaking procedures under supervision if not already proficient).
- Participate in rotations in areas such as nail surgery, diabetes and vascular care.
- Arrange for offloading orthoses, pressure-relieving insoles, and shoe inserts as needed.

### Job responsibilities

You will be confident in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the lower limb, with a sound knowledge of disease processes relating to the foot and lower limb of all types of patient groups. The ability to network, liaise and build relationships with other health care professionals would be highly advantageous.

Knowledge of basic MSK and competence with nail surgery is also a requirement for the role.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take part in nail surgery on a rota basis and there are opportunities for shadowing and working with the Multi -Disciplinary Foot Team and the MSK specialist team to further advance skills and knowledge base.

- Knowledge and understanding of Clinical Governance

### Experience

- Evidence of relevant Post Graduate experience and training within specialist areas in Podiatry such as management of the high risk foot, the Diabetic Foot at risk and Biomechanical/ Musculoskeletal Assessment Diagnosis and Management

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- A degree or equivalent qualification in Podiatric Medicine
- Registration with the Health Professions Council
- A certificate in administration of local anaesthetics
- Evidence of relevant Post Graduate Education, Validated Courses, Training and continuous professional development
- I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
