Our MSK staff rotate between outpatient templates covering clinics across the Salford footprint. We have a robust induction and training schedule and you will be supported by the Physiotherapy Operational and Professional Lead, Clinical Leads and other MDT colleagues. You will be expected to support the wider team and assist in the development of services within the MSK environment. Therefore, the ability to work as part of a team, leadership skills and experience of supervising staff and students are essential criteria. You should have significant post registration experience including a minimum of 3 years experience working at a Band 5 level (or above) not only in MSK but also in a variety of speciality areas. You will need to be able to demonstrate specialist knowledge in the assessment and treatment of patients; an understanding of the National Guidelines / Standards, as well as evidence of post graduate training relevant to the MSK setting . Highly developed communication skills, flexibility, good organisational skills and time management skills are all essential criteria. Basic IT skills are also required. ### Main duties of the job To deliver a wide variety of clinical work within the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Service in the hospital and also within the community clinic setting. This includes working with patients who have a variety of complex needs, e.g.: - Orthopaedic Post-op patients - Degenerative Conditions - Chronic Pain - Self-referral patient Assess and treat own caseload of patients who have complex presentations and maintain own records as an autonomous practitioner Review patients on a 1:1 basis as well as deliver therapy and education in class settings. To lead assessment, liaison and decision making processes for patients. To undertake a significant clinical caseload to a high professional standard, using specialist knowledge from theoretical and practical experience.
