### Job summary

To lead and provide a high quality, safe and patient focused clinical pharmacist service to Trauma and Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Pain Services, to meet professional, divisional and Trust requirements

Responsible for providing specialist pharmacist advice on medicines to Trauma and Orthopaedics, Rheumatologys and Pain Services prescribers, clinicians, nursing staff and patients.

To contribute to the development of medicines management and optimisation throughout the patient care pathway

To participate in the wider pharmacy service and its development in response to patient care needs

To work as an independent prescriber, managing a defined patient caseload

This post provides a unique opportunity to join the pharmacy team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and provide pharmaceutical care for patients undergoing treatment within our Trauma and Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Pain Services.

The postholder will be embedded into the Orthopaedic, Rheumatology and Pain multidisciplinary teams promoting the safe and effective use of medicines across the Care Group as well as ensuring the cost-effective use of resources.

The postholder will need to be a confident individual and independent prescriber as they will be seeing and prescribing medicines for patients as part of the peri-operative pathway

We are looking for an innovative and experienced specialist pharmacist to join our team and enhance our ability to provide medicines support for patients undergoing treatment within our Trauma and Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Pain Services. This is a fixed term post for 12 months to cover maternity leave.

The postholder will be a key member of the pharmacy team providing supervision and development of pharmacists and maintaining our core services.

You will be an excellent communicator interacting with healthcare professionals and patients.

You must be highly self-motivated, able to demonstrate leadership skills and have the ability to plan and work, both independently and as part of the wider healthcare team, to deliver excellent pharmaceutical care to our patients.

Experienced clinical pharmacists at band 7 with a prescribing qualification and an interest in developing into a specialist band 8a role may be considered for this post depending on experience.
