We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Integrated Specialist Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver expert palliative and end‑of‑life care across acute, community and integrated settings, supporting patients with complex needs and their families.

As a Band 7 CNS, you will provide advanced clinical leadership, specialist assessment, care planning, and education, working collaboratively across organisational boundaries to ensure high‑quality, person‑centred care.

We also welcome applications from experienced Band 6 nurses with a strong interest in palliative care who wish to develop into a Band 7 role. A structured development and supervision programme will be offered to support progression for suitable candidates.

We are looking for candidates who have:

- Registered Nurse status with significant post‑registration experience
- Specialist knowledge and experience in palliative and end‑of‑life care
- Excellent communication, leadership and multidisciplinary working skills
- Commitment to education, service development and quality improvement

Secondment opportunity considered for existing Trust staff, discussion with current line manager advised prior to application

To provide a highly specialist palliative care service for people with life-threatening illness, aiming to enhance quality of life for patients and carers with complex physical, psychological and emotional needs.  To manage a caseload and assess and evaluate the care given.

To act as a specialist resource, to other professionals including independent contractors, this includes the development and delivery of educational programmes both on a primary care and the private sector (care homes) related to the care and management of patients.

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Knowledge of recent developments in palliative care
- Knowledge of community care
- Sound knowledge of National and Regional Policies influencing Cancer and Palliative Care Services

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- First level adult nurse
- Post registration qualification in palliative care or equivalent
- Degree

**Desirable**

- Training in counselling / communication skills
- Community post registration qualification
- Non-medical prescribing
