An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Occupational Therapist to become part of our Occupational Therapy Team.

As the successful post holder you will become part of the Allied Health Professional team and be based in Nairn Town and County Hospital. To be considered for this post you must hold the relevant Occupational Therapy degree qualifications and be a member of the Health and Care Profession Council.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to work both independently and as part of a wider team. You will demonstrate your knowledge of evidence based practice and client centred principles when planning and implementing tasks and treatment plans. You will also be responsible for delegating duties to junior practitioners and assistant practitioners. In addition, you will be active in co-ordinating daily triage of referrals and tasks and support in co-ordinating whole team OT activity.

Applications are invited from registered Occupational Therapists who have expertise in both community and in patients. Previous experience managing ward in-patients, neurology including stroke and conditions associated with falls and frail elderly would be an advantage.

There is a robust supervision system which you will also lead in, when supervising B5, B4 or B3 staff members.

Opportunities for professional development exist locally from band 7 mentoring and from the wider organisation. In addition, the department offers a rolling in service training programme and peer supervision which you will lead and participate in.

As this post may involve some community activity, you must be a UK car driver with a current licence and access to a vehicle.

The hospital offers many services within the AHP section including inpatient rehabilitation, discharge to assess, pulmonary and falls rehabilitation and Musculoskeletal services.
