### Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the expansion of our already established Midwifery Sonographer team across Leeds, West Yorkshire The post holder is an expert clinical practitioner of midwifery, trained in ultrasonography who provides midwifery and ultrasound care for both low risk and high risk women. The post-holder will work in collaboration with the antenatal care team to provide ultrasound and midwifery care. The post carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and setting standards of care. The post-holder is expected to perform the full range of obstetric ultrasound procedures involved in the third trimester of pregnancy. This is a highly specialised clinical service with the postholder expected to independently report and interpret ultrasound images and document relevance accordingly. The role will be supporting our existing team of Midwife Sonographers to deliver antenatal screening to nearly 10,000 women at both our St James University & Leeds General Infirmary sites over 7 days. ### Main duties of the job

You will bring experience of providing detailed Midwifery background and Ultrasound knowledge. Act as a resource for Ultrasound and Midwifery Issues and have the ability to perform a range of obstetric ultrasound scans and reports on ultrasound scan images independently. The successful candidate will need to be passionate about providing excellent patient centered care and take part in audits when required, and to work well as part of a wider MDT. The Fetal assessment Unit is part of the Women’s CSU, you will work closely with the Fetal assessment team, working at both Leeds General Infirmary and St James Teaching hospitals. We are currently under going service Improvements in line with Saving Babies Lives recommendation and other service improvements which make it an exciting time to work with us at Leeds.

What you will bring to the role

You will bring experience of providing detailed Midwifery background and Ultrasound knowledge.
