## Job Content

### Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated midwife to join the Maternal Medicine Team at the Royal London Hospital, one of the UK's leading tertiary maternal medicine hubs.

We are seeking a midwife with a passion for delivering personalised, continuity-based care to women and birthing people with complex pre-existing and pregnancy-related medical conditions. The successful candidate will thrive in a multidisciplinary environment, building strong relationships with service users and colleagues across a wide range of specialties to ensure safe, coordinated and compassionate care throughout pregnancy and the postnatal period.

This role requires a confident and autonomous practitioner with excellent clinical knowledge, strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Outstanding communication and leadership abilities are essential, alongside a commitment to improving outcomes for women and birthing people with complex medical needs.

### Main duties of the job

Working closely with Maternal Medicine Consultants, Maternal Medicine Network Leads and a broad multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in coordinating and supporting the care of women and birthing people with complex medical conditions, including those classified as Category C within the NHS England Maternal Medicine Network specification.

You will provide specialist midwifery input within tertiary multidisciplinary clinics, coordinate and lead maternal medicine multidisciplinary team meetings, and review patients across a variety of settings including maternity services, medical and surgical wards, critical care and the emergency department. You will work both independently and collaboratively to ensure timely, safe and effective care, while facilitating clear communication between all professionals involved.

The post holder will contribute to the ongoing development of maternal medicine services and support the education and professional development of midwifery colleagues across the Trust. Working alongside the Network Lead Midwife, you will also contribute to governance, quality improvement and service development initiatives.

A central aspect of the role is providing personalised, evidence-based care that supports informed decision-making and respects individual preferences throughout the pregnancy journey. You will advocate for women and birthing people with complex medical needs, ensuring they receive holistic, compassionate and equitable care.
