The candidate will be expected to work across both hospital sites depending on the needs of the service. The job plan will include 10 Programmed Activities  The successful candidate must be dedicated to the pursuit of excellence, always placing the patient first.

Main duties of the job

Role summary: 1. To actively engage and participate in the delivery of safe and effective Anaesthetic services within the Trust. 2. To independently cover anaesthetic sessions for trauma, #nof surgeries, renal access procedures under regional blocks, gynaecology surgery and general surgery and obstetrics 3. To independently cover weekend trauma theatre lists with a 1:6 frequency. 4. To actively participate in departmental rota management, clinical governance and quality improvement activities. 5. To actively participate in the teaching, training and supervision of anaesthetic trainees and medical students.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To always, comply with the GMC’s guidance on ‘Good Medical Practice’ as amended or substituted from time to time. 2. To ensure that patient confidentiality is always maintained. 3. To undertake duties as defined within the attached job plan in so far as practicable and in agreement with your Clinical Director. 4. To be responsible and managerially accountable for the reasonable and effective use of Trust resources that you use and influence, and professionally accountable to the Medical Director. 5. On commencement to ensure personal attendance at the Trust’s corporate Induction (or arranged Consultant Induction). 6. To participate in the Trust’s Statutory & Mandatory training programme. 7. To be responsible for the Clinical Management of in and outpatients under your care.
