### Job overview

This post will involve working as part of a team of doctors covering the specialties of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. The post is aimed for Docter interested in Fetal-Maternal Medicine or High-risk pregnancy. Previous Fetal Medicine and scanning experience is essential, as there will be expectation to deliver Fetal medicine scan and Pre-Term clinic lists, with both direct and indirect Specialist Consultant supervision and support.

The candidate will be supported to learn not just clinical skills relating to Fetal Medicine but also to participate in clinical audits, quality improvement and research projects.

### Main duties of the job

Whilst on duty the post holder has clinical and professional responsibility for their patients. It is also the duty of the post holder to:

- Keep patients (and/or their carers as appropriate) informed about their condition.
- Involve patients and/or their carers if appropriate in decision making about their treatment.
- Maintain professional standards and obligations as set out from time to time by the General Medical Council and comply in particular with the GMC’s guidance on ‘Good Medical Practice’

The post holder will be responsible for carrying out any work related to and reasonably incidental to the duties set out in their Job Description such as:

- The keeping of records and the provision of reports
- The proper delegation of tasks
- Maintaining skills and knowledge
- Running a fetal medicine clinic in collaboration with UHCW ( 2 clinics per week)

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care.

To be able to work flexibly, and cross cover for colleagues.

To take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.

To contribute to the management of the clinical service and service development.

To contribute to the research and development of the department.

To provide cover for colleagues as appropriate and in accordance with local Trust arrangements and Trust Policy.

To observe the Trust’s agreed policies and procedures

To take responsibility for your own health and safety complying with any safe working arrangements, policies and procedures which are in place.

To accept a duty to other staff and patients to ensure that any hazards are reported and managed appropriately

To ensure that there are adequate arrangements for hospital staff involved in the care of patients to be able to contact you when necessary

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
