The post holder will also be responsible for independent trauma clinics and theatre lists The role will include pre-operative assessment, liaison with anaesthetic staff, post-operative care and peri-operative decision making. The post-holder will be expected to run independent elective and trauma operating lists and clinics and is expected to attend departmental MDT meetings to ensure governance of all trauma and arthroplasty cases. There is no requirement to be part of the consultant on-call service, but acting at the level of consultant to cover trauma clinics and theatre lists is necessary, with the occasional need to support the Consultant of the Week ward activities. The successful applicant will be expected to partake in CPD activities within T&O. They will require experience as a Clinical and Educational Supervisor for all levels of training doctors both deanery and trust grade.
