The position will require you to work autonomously to a level of defined competencies, as agreed within local clinical governance frameworks and the departmental clinical lead.  There is a departmental focus on turn around times and the timely reporting of cases.  The candidate will work independently  to deliver histopathology reporting and their competencies will cover the breadth of presentations expected in their role.  The role will primarily focus on providing direct clinical care, and meeting service delivery demands.  The details of the balance between clinical care and other elements of the role would be discussed during the job planning process.  There is no requirement for MDT attendance. ### Main duties of the job The generic duties outlined below are not definitive and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service. Clinical Duties: ● Reporting of histopathology specimens to a high standard ● Providing evidence-based care for patients in a multidisciplinary setting. ● Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care (with secretarial support) ● Participation in clinical audit and in continuing medical education. ● Conducting suitable duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities Management and Leadership Responsibilities: All staff in each Division are managerially accountable through their Lead Clinician to the Associate Medical Director, who has overall responsibility for the services within the Division.
