Are you an experienced Specialist Doctor in General Adult Psychiatry? We are seeking a full time Specialist Doctor in General Adult Psychiatry in our Christchurch and Southbourne Community Mental Health Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated psychiatrist to join us and play a key role in shaping and developing services in line with the NHS Long Term Plan and Community Mental Health Framework.

As a Specialist Doctor you’ll provide assessment and ongoing care for service users, along with advice and guidance to local GP’s and clinical leadership of the multi-professional team. You'll be invited to join the East Dorset middle grade on-call rota. The on call rota is Dorset wide and paid at 3% on call availability supplement plus 1 additional programme activities (APA) for full time participation.

We offer a recruitment and retention payment of £10,000 to be paid in monthly instalments for the first year of employment, together with a generous relocation package of up to £10,000 if you are looking to make the move to beautiful Dorset. The Christchurch and Southbourne Community Mental Health Team are a large multidisciplinary team, which consists of a mix of highly experienced and skilled staff, as well as new staff who are bringing drive, creativity, and new ways of working. This includes an operational team leader, an ACP, CCO posts, dedicated duty workers, support workers, psychology, and a very experienced admin team. We also have social workers who are part of the wider team.

As a Specialist Doctor you’ll provide cross cover for annual, study and emergency sick leave with the Specialist Dr/Associate Specialist for neighbouring Bournemouth East CMHT.

The Trust supports specialist doctors in their professional career development and we pride on the learning and development and peer support that is available to specialist doctors. The post attracts 10 days per year of study leave and an annual study leave budget of up to £1000.

- High levels of competence in diagnosis, risk assessment, care planning and prescribing.
