Are you keen to work in a specialist role within the diabetes team here in Harrogate. This post gives the opportunity to build on your experience of dietetic management of people with Diabetes.

Due to a maternity leave within the dietetic department we have an exciting opportunity for a part- time ( 0.75WTE) Specialist Dietitian to join our team for 12 months.

### Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be part of the Diabetes service, supporting consultant clinics, delivering structured education and outpatient dietetics clinics.

This post is an excellent opportunity to develop your experience and knowledge base in delivering education and working as part of the Diabetes MDT. The post holder will also support work to other departmental projects, audits and supervision.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Harrogate Nutrition and Dietetics service is an enthusiastic, empowered, inclusive team that supports and lives the Trust's values. We welcome dietetic students on A, B and C placements largely from Leeds Beckett university and the successful post-holder will be expected to take part in pre-registration training.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Can demonstrate evidence of continued professional development (e.g. postgraduate training in diabetes, Diploma in Advanced Dietetic Practice, keeps a professional portfolio, peer reviewed publications, presentations)
- 6 months post graduate experience of diabetes
- Knowledge & experience of both Type1 and Type 2 diabetes and structured education.
- Evidence of introducing service development and innovation

**Desirable**

- Involvement in audit / research activities
- DAFNE trained
- Knowledge of national strategies and evidence based practice related to diabetes

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Recognised degree or post graduate qualification in Human Nutrition & Dietetics
- UK Registered Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council for minimum of 1 year
- Member of the British Dietetic Association or other professional indemnity insurance
