This clinical role involves both direct patient care & co-leading a team of nurses & HCAs. You may already have the degree level Specialist Practitioner qualification or we will support you to undertake the course within 2 years of commencing. Specialist advice is readily available due to our integrated community service also including Therapists, Pharmacists, Tissue Viability, Continence, Cardiac, Diabetes, Dietetics, Speech & Language & Respiratory Specialists. ### Main duties of the job Community Nursing is a highly specialised area of practice recognised by the Queens Nurses Institute and NMC as a specialist role. As a District Nurse/Senior Community Nurse, you will work within an integrated hub model of District Nurses, Specialist Nurses, Community Staff Nurses, Therapists, Trainee/Registered Nursing Associates, Associate Practitioners, and Health Care Assistants to meet the needs of the complex patient in the community and avoid admissions to the acute sector as far as practicable. This includes: - Intravenous Antibiotic administration, - End of life care, - Managing the deteriorating patient, - Complex and simple wound care including VAC therapy and compression therapy, - Venepuncture, - Utilising advanced physical assessment skills and many more clinical nursing skills.
