## Job Content

### Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and within a friendly and welcoming psychology team. We provide a highly specialist psychology service to clients of the Intensive Case Management for Psychosis Team (ICMP), a community mental health team providing support to people with a primary diagnosis of a psychotic disorder or bipolar disorder. Psychology is seen as central to providing formulation driven treatment and supporting team development. There is an emphasis on relational and trauma informed care as well as systemic working.

The role includes providing highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation and treatment including CBT for Psychosis, Family Interventions, and trauma focused therapies. In addition to direct client work, the role incorporates offering consultation, support, and training to MDT colleagues and to clients’ personal and professional networks.

All of the psychosis teams within Oxleas are currently undergoing a redesign process, with the new service model commencing in August 2026. The ICMP team will be moving to a Care Teams Approach, which will include more dedicated assertive outreach teams. Whilst there will be no major changes in how the psychology service in ICMP operates and its staffing, this post does present an exciting opportunity with some flexibility to shape how this role and the psychology team functions and best serves the broader ICMP team.

### Main duties of the job

To provide a highly specialist psychology service to clients of the Intensive Case Management for Psychosis Team (ICMP). To provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and treatment including CBT for Psychosis, Family Interventions, and trauma focused therapies. In addition to direct client work, the role incorporates offering joint working, consultation,  support, and training to MDT colleagues and to clients’ personal and professional networks, and supervising trainee clinical psychologists or other junior members of the psychology team. The role involves working assertively to engage clients and promote social inclusion and recovery, and to participate in early detection or relapse.

It is a requirement for this post that the post holder develop specialist skills in undertaking therapy with people with psychosis, and as such it is expected that, subject to available places, they will complete the year long CBT for Psychosis top up training, commencing in January 2027. Following this there will be training opportunities to develop specialist competencies in other evidence-based models – e.g. Family Interventions for Psychosis and EMDR. There are also opportunities to undertake, or develop skills in neuropsychological assessments, and be involved in our family therapy clinic (without the need for any specialist systemic training, although this is very welcome).
