The department performs bacteriology, parasitology, serology, molecular testing and operates an extended working day and 24 hour on call service. We’re looking for a passionate and committed individual who shares our values and want to invest in continuously to improve and transform our services. ### Main duties of the job To undertake the day to day sample processing and analytical clinical investigations for Microbiology to the agreed standard of timeliness and quality. Supervise Band 5 Biomedical Scientists and support staff within their work area. To engage in training of staff. To fully participate in on-call, out of hours and weekend duties. Familiarisation and understanding of ISO 15189 standards, Health & Safety requirements; audit and training/education techniques is essential. Experience of utilising transformation methodologies to drive change and improve service delivery is also desirable. Proactive individuals, with drive and dedication will excel in this post.
