The Immunocytochemistry department offers an extensive antibody repertoire across two different staining platforms, the Dako Omnis’s and the Ventana Benchmark ultra, The post holder will be responsible for continually loading and unloading the work across the two staining platforms in an organised and efficient manner to ensure maximum throughput across the day. The successful candidate must have an extensive background knowledge of routine Histology and must be experienced and competent in the microtomy of biopsy material, including skim cores and scanty material. Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team essential requirements. Applicants must have demonstrable registration experience in Histology and must be currently working in a UKAS accredited Cellular Pathology laboratory. ### Main duties of the job To participate in the provision of the Immunocytochemistry (ICC) service, supporting the Senior Specialist BMS with the day to day running of the department whilst supervising laboratory assistant staff working within the area. The individual would also be expected to identify and triage urgent cases, trouble shoot technical issues, monitor stock and regularly participate in the quality control check of all cases leaving the department, escalating any issues to the Senior BMS.
